Solutions has two primary Project Management tool
product lines, with PMPlan Enterprise providing Multi-User and Line Management and Portfolio support!
The PMPlan "Stand Alone" Product Line:
PMPlan
Standard, or "PMPlan", is a single-user product first developed during
the 1980's for Battelle Memorial Institute's
corporate project management purposes, and since 2003, has
been available for
use to the
general public through AlNik Solutions. PMPlan,
can be used in many forms for project status, but has been developed to the specifications as an Earned Value Project Management System, and is a fully-functional integrated
Project Management tool, compare
the features.
The downloaded evauation software is the the fully functional extended capability "PMPlanPro" stand-alone product. The previous evaluation version was the limited stand-alone version,PMPlanLT, that is still available for most student
applications. All stand-alone versions of the PMPlan products require the Purchase of
a "License Key and Registration".
The stand-alone products include, and "Software Licenses and Registration" can be purchased for: "PMPlanLT", the limited version of PMPlan for student applications; "PMPlan Standard", the base application for general project management efforts; and "PMPlanPro", like the base PMPlan application but with the superior feature capability of PMPlan Enterprise, for more sophisticated project and line management efforts. In this release, user licenses must be purchased once the evaluation period expires, for continued use of the stand-alone products.
"PMPlanPro", An enhancement of the PMPlan Standard product, PMPlanPro is a stand alone Application that is:
Similar to PMPlan Enterprise , the project management tool, is an enhanced version of the stand-alone PMPlan Standard, and with the exception of the resource pool, looks and works the same as PMPlan Standard. However, PMPlanPro contains the same additional features as PMPlan Enterprise such as the ability to define project rules, develop Burden Rate tables, etc., for more comprehensive Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting, etc.
Unlike PMPlan Enterprise, which is locked to a multi-user server based database, PMPlanPro provides the ability for a user to attach to the multi-user server based database as a Concurrent Licensed User to work with, or on, a common proposal/project file. The file could then be checked-out to the PMPlanPro stand-alone internal database while locking-out access to the file on the PMPlan Enterprise common database and, assuming the PMPlanPro resides on a laptop computer, proceed to an offsite client location for the purpose of a proposed project contract negotiation, or for a project critical review.
Once the offsite work has been completed, the updated proposal/project file may be returned to the common database to update and replace the original file.
The PMPlan "Enterprise" Product Line: The release of, PMPlan
"Enterprise", an MS SQL Server® based
multi-user Suite of Project and Line Management
Tools, provides significant additional capabilities for proposal preparation/pricing to DCAA standards, project management and reporting to DOD-5000.2, and"ANSI/EIA-748 Standards"
for
Earned Value Management (EVM), and provides a common customizable database for all projects and associated resources.

PMPlan Enterprise tools support project management and line management teams in providing for concurrent and timely access to a centralized common project and workforce resource database by all project teams, for all projects, expediting and improving the processing of project and workforce financial and schedule forecast data. PMPlan Enterprise consists of three modules; the PMPlan proposal preparation, pricing and project management tool, like the base PMPlan application but with a superior feature capability, and meets all 32 EVM criteria of the ANSI/EIA-748 standard, and is currently used as the pricing tool for an DCAA approved pricing system; the LMPlan line management tool, for labor resource categorization, assignment and forecasting; and the PMFolio management revenue analysis and portfolio tool, for analyzing all projects within the organizations common server database and provides summary reports showing the status and health of all of the projects, or of projects of interest.
The project management tool, "PMPlan Enterprise", an enhanced version of PMPlan Standard, and with the exception of the resource pool, looks and works the same as PMPlan. However, PMPlan Enterprise contains additional features not available in PMPlan such as a the ability to define project rules, develop Burden Rate tables, etc. PMPlan Enterprise can be customized to access specific project financial and forecasting data of other applications and organizational databases and/or other unique management processes, allowing for additional and more comprehensive Earned Value Management EVM) and other reporting requirements.
The line management tool, "LMPlan", is a workforce assignment and forecasting tool for billable and un-billable project and overhead applications. It provides for the set up it's own project file for limited purposes, or may import project plans from the PMPlan Enterprise project management tool, PMPlan, or other in house project or pricing tools, either directly or indirectly.
All sensitive information contained in the centralized database is managed, with controlled access, through another Enterprise tool, "anDBManager".
A Management focused Revenue and Portfolio tool, "PMFolio" provides for the analysis of the project data stored within the centralized server database, and provides summary reports that determine the status and health of all of the projects within the database, or of selected projects of interest.
The PMPlan Enterprise tools provide the project and line managers with compatible tools that, when jointly applied to the common data within the centralized database, provides for timely project status reports and summary data support for:
PMPlan Standard data files may be imported into the PMPlan Enterprise tool, "PMPlan Enterprise".
PMPlan Enterprise provides Read/Write access to all or parts of projects controlled by project managers.
PMPlan Enterprise can create a Portfolio (Master) Program consisting of selected projects.
PMPlan Enterprise requires access to a Microsoft SQL Sever® 2005, or later (Preferably MS SQL Server 2008 R2, and it must be customer supplied), for the installation of it's centralized database.
PMPlan Enterprise Tools, are MS Windows® based Project Management software tools that focus' on project development through the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

"PMPlan Enterprise" is only available for purchase through submitting a request for quote (RFQ). Before a quotation can be processed, much data needs to be collaborated on between the parties, including the thought processes or requirements for the selection of a system such as PMPlan Enterprise, the potential interfacing requirements desired, potential installation issues, and any internal custom process requirements that may be required of the finished product.
PMPlan Enterprise is the multi-user SQL Server based application, with 20 concurrent user seats in the base price, and will require a custom installation, a customer provided MS SQL Server Windows server system and the Enterprise license will need to be purchased for its use.
PMPlan Standard and PMPlan Enterprise Tools may be installed on MS Windows® (NT,
2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7) 32 or 64 bit compatible platforms; (and was also tested on a newer Mac using an Intel processor, and using a Parallel Desktop)
PMPlan Product Customization
PMPlan
Enterprise tools are powerful proposal planning, pricing, project and
resource management tools right out of the box, however,
experience has shown that most customers
have
unique requirements for interfacing with,
or exchanging data with, internal financial and HR data,
and/or other corporate directed commercial
applications (i.e. Deltek®, Microframe®, Microsoft®, ProPricer®,
etc.). AlNik Solutions recognizes
these requirements, and is in a position
to provide customization of the PMPlan Enterprise application
modules to address them.
