anDBManager/System Installation anDBManager, a component of PMPlan Enterprise for Earned Value Management (EVM) The anDBManager© application provides management with the administrative management of the PMPlan database, 'PMPlanDatabase'. The anDBManager allows management and financial staff, and/or their delegates, to access the 'PMPlanDatabase' for the administration and service of sensitive resource database tables that are not normally available to other staff within the organization. anDBManager is a separate application but an integral component of the PMPlan Enterprise Project and Workforce Management Suite© Recommended system requirements for the use of PMPlan Enterprise products: Windows 2000/XP recommended 128MB RAM recommended but may require more for a large project plan 200 MB free hard disk space 1024 x 768 display recommended, 256 colors minimum Microsoft SQL Server™ PMPlan Enterprize products (PMPlanDB©, anDBManager© and LMPlanBD©) require a database interface to an organizational network installation of Microsoft's SQL Server 2000™, or a later version, in order to function for multiuser requirements. The organizations IT, or database professional may need to be consulted to coordinate the use of, and/or the installation the MS SQL Server™, as well as the installation and maintenance of PMPlanDB, anDBManager, LMPlanDB, and the associated 'PMPlanDatabase'. Information for the use and purchase of MS SQL Server™ may be obtained at: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/default.mspx   Install anDBManager and the 'PMPlanDatabase' Run 'InstallanDBManager.exe' to install anBManager.exe Installing the database Copy Database files to SQL Server Machine Copy the following two files from the anDBManager installation directory into C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data PMPlanDatabase.mdf PMPlanDatabase_log.ldf Attach Database to SQL Server Select Start | All Programs | Microsoft SQL Server | Enterprise Manager Click on + next to Microsoft SQL Servers Click on + next to SQL Server Group Click on + next to (local)(Windows NT) Right Click on 'Databases' Select 'All Tasks' Select 'Attach Database …' Browse to where you have PMPlanDatabase.mdf Select 'OK' You should get 'Attaching Database has completed successfully' Close 'Enterprise Manager To attach the database to SQL Server The attached 'PMPlanDatabase' Setup ODBC Data Source Select 'Start | Administrative Tools | Data Sources (ODBC)' Click the 'System DSN' Tab Click 'Add' Select 'SQL Server' Click 'Finish' Enter PMPlan in the 'Name:' field Enter PMPlan in the 'Description:' field Enter name for Server (See SQL Server Administrator for correct name) Click 'Next' Click 'Next' Select option 'Change the default database to:' Select 'PMPlanDatabase' from combo list Click 'Next' Click 'Finish' Click 'Test Data Source' for verify that you can connect Click three 'OK's The PMPlan ODBC Data Source The default view of anDBManager - Select here to view the Guide to Using anDBManager!
